Founded in 1992, Kindred Communications is a locally owned and operated media company led by Mike and Reeves Kirtner. With a deep commitment to the community, Kindred Communications delivers top-tier entertainment, news, and sports coverage across multiple platforms.

The company operates six radio stations and nine signals, including 93.7 The Dawg, 97.9 The River, Big Buck 101.5, 92.7 & 98.5 The Planet, ESPN 94.1 & AM 930, and Cat Sports 93.3 & AM 1340. These stations dominate their respective formats, from country and rock to classic hits and sports talk, serving as the region's go-to source for music, news, and live sports coverage.

Kindred Communications is proud to be the flagship radio station for Marshall University athletics and also carries University of Kentucky athletics, as well as live broadcasts of several area high school games. Additionally, the company provides coverage of NASCAR, national sports programming, and more.

Beyond radio, Kindred Communications spearheads major community events, including the beloved 9th Street Live summer concert series and Dawg Dazzle, Huntington's signature Independence Day fireworks celebration since 2004.
